Biden said ‘I don’t know’ when asked if he will visit Ukraine

  • Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky called on U.S. President Joe Biden to visit Ukraine so he could see the devastation for himself.
  • Biden told reporters that he doesn’t know if he will visit the Ukrainian capital.
  • The White House has previously stated that they will not send Biden to Ukraine but is considering sending a high-ranking U.S. official.

Following Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky’s call for U.S. President Joe Biden to visit Ukraine, Biden remarked on Tuesday that he doesn’t know whether he will travel to the Ukrainian capital.

When reporters asked the president about it during an event in New Hampshire, Biden replied, “The answer is, I don’t know.”

During an interview with CNN that aired on Sunday, Zelensky called on Biden to visit Ukraine and see the destruction for himself.

The White House has previously said that Biden will not be sent to Ukraine, but that they are considering sending a high-ranking U.S. official to meet and show support to Zelensky as the invasion approaches the two-month mark.

On Thursday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on the “Pod Save America” podcast that Biden is “ready for anything” and “ready to go to Ukraine.” But she clarified, “We are not sending the president to Ukraine.”

According to sources familiar with the situation, possible U.S. officials to visit Ukraine would include Secretary of State Antony Blinken or Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, but it would be highly unlikely for Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to make the trip due to security concerns.

During an interview at the Economic Club of Washington D.C. last week, national security adviser Jake Sullivan said, “If and when that happens, we’ll want to make sure it’s done in a very secure way.”

Several Western leaders have personally visited Ukraine since Russia started its invasion in February, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as well as the leaders of neighboring Poland, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

They’re going to “send him”?! For God’s sake, he’s supposed to be the PRESIDENT! HE decides where he will go. How embarrassing is that for America!?

I am all in favor of sending Harris. She can fly in from Poland on an Osprey. this will enable her to land close to the meeting place. If she is shot down from what i can see she is doing nothing anyway except cackling. NASA does not want her. The US SW border ICE has no need for her. Why send someone who may be doing assigned work such as a SOS. If she gets killed, no big loss.

Definitely joe and kamala need to go to see Ukraine. They need to take hunter with them. I doubt it will happen though. They would not even go to the southern border. Would not do any good though. They would just get in the way.
