Dylan Sprouse took matters into his own hands when an alleged burglar attempted to break into his home in the early hours of Friday morning. The 33-year-old former Disney Channel star physically subdued the intruder and held him for police.
According to reports, Sprouse’s wife, Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin, spotted an unknown man on their Hollywood Hills property around 12:30 a.m. After Palvin alerted authorities, Sprouse confronted the would-be burglar directly.
The actor reportedly tackled the intruder to the ground and restrained him until law enforcement arrived on scene. No one was injured during the incident, and the suspect never made it inside the couple’s residence.
The alleged intruder was taken into custody and is currently being held on outstanding warrants. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of those warrants or whether additional charges related to the attempted break-in will be filed.
Sprouse and Palvin have been married since July 2023, tying the knot in Palvin’s native Hungary. The couple first connected on Instagram in 2018 when Sprouse sent her a direct message.
They made their relationship public later that year and have maintained a close bond ever since. In a February 2025 interview, the couple revealed they have a strict rule about not being apart for longer than two to three weeks.
“It’s definitely easier, but also, the funny thing is, the kind of big secret about the acting industry that being on set’s actually really boring, so I always kind of feel bad,” Sprouse said about having Palvin visit him while filming.
“I’m always like, I hope she’s having fun.”
Sprouse rose to fame alongside his twin brother Cole on the Disney Channel series “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody,” which premiered in 2005. The show became a cultural phenomenon and spawned the spin-off “The Suite Life on Deck.”
The brothers began their acting careers at a young age, often sharing roles in various productions. Their breakthrough came with the Disney Channel franchise, where they played twin boys living in a hotel.
Dylan left the show in 2011 due to creative differences, explaining he and his brother had different ideas about the show’s direction than network executives. After wrapping the series, both brothers took a break from Hollywood to pursue higher education.
Dylan graduated from NYU in 2015 and chose a different path than his brother, who went on to star in “Riverdale.” Instead, Dylan co-founded All-Wise Meadery in Brooklyn, New York, a business specializing in brewing mead, while taking on occasional acting roles.
The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by high-profile residents in Los Angeles, particularly in affluent neighborhoods like the Hollywood Hills. Property crimes and attempted break-ins have been a persistent concern in the area.
