Federal authorities arrested controversial internet personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami on Saturday, executing an arrest warrant issued by the United Kingdom. The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed the arrests but noted the warrant was sealed, limiting public disclosure of specific details.
The Crown Prosecution Service in the UK last year charged Andrew Tate with 10 counts of serious crimes, including rape and human trafficking related to three women. His brother Tristan faced 11 similar counts tied to one woman. On Saturday, prosecutors announced additional charges for both brothers, including 19 counts for Andrew Tate related to illegal child images and pornography.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier’s office confirmed to reporters that the pair were taken into custody on the UK arrest warrant. Uthmeier had opened an investigation into the Tate brothers last year after concerning statements they made publicly.
“To me, when they’re making statements that sound an awful lot like criminal activity, I think as attorney general, I’ve got a duty to investigate and make sure that we’re not subjecting, you know, women in our state to dangers,” Uthmeier said last year.
“If there’s a crime that occurred here in our jurisdiction, we’ve got a prerogative to prosecute it, and we will do so.”
This arrest marks the latest chapter in an ongoing legal saga for the brothers. Romanian authorities first detained them in 2022 on charges of rape, human trafficking, sex with a minor, and trafficking minors. British prosecutors formally charged them with these offenses in May of last year.
The Tate brothers built a significant online following among young men seeking advice on wealth and relationships. Their content promoted an aggressive “alpha male” lifestyle and attracted millions of followers across social media platforms. However, their public personas have come under intense scrutiny as allegations against them mounted.
Last year, Andrew Tate’s ex-girlfriend Brianna Stern publicly accused him of physical abuse and controlling behavior.
“The last time I saw Andrew was on March 11, 2025 at the Beverly Hill’s Hotel,” Stern wrote on social media.
“The last words he said to me before I left the hotel were: ‘Shut the f*** up, b****. You will never backtalk me. You are my property.'”
Months later, Canadian YouTuber Lauren Southern published similar allegations in a memoir, describing an alleged assault by Andrew Tate.
“I said no, very clearly, multiple times, and tried to pull his hands off me,” Southern wrote.
“He put his arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious. I tried to fight back. He repeatedly strangled me every time I regained enough consciousness to pull at his arms. I’d prefer not to share the rest. It’s pretty obvious.”
Both brothers have consistently denied all allegations made against them throughout the investigation process. They maintain their innocence on all charges.
Andrew and Tristan Tate hold dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom. They relocated to Romania in 2016 but returned to American soil last year as Romanian authorities intensified their investigation. The United Kingdom is now seeking to extradite both brothers to face charges there.
The case raises important questions about online influencer culture, accountability, and the protection of vulnerable individuals. As legal proceedings move forward, the full facts of these allegations will be tested in court under the rule of law.
