Moderna asks FDA approval for 4th dose of COVID shot for all adults
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Moderna had asked the FDA for emergency use authorization for a second booster dose of its COVID-19 vaccine for all adults.
- The drugmaker made the request based in part on recent data from the U.S. and Israel after the surge caused by the highly- transmissible omicron variant.
- Pfizer and BioNTech asked the FDA for emergency use authorization for a second booster dose of their vaccine for adults age 65 and older on Tuesday.
Moderna has sought the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday an emergency use authorization for the fourth shot of its COVID-19 vaccine. It will serve as a second booster dose for all adults.
The drugmaker’s request is broader than Pfizer’s request earlier this week which is only asking for the approval for a booster shot for all seniors.
Moderna said it’s seeking approval for all adults “to provide flexibility” to the CDC and medical providers to determine the “appropriate use” of a second booster dose of the mRNA vaccine, “including for those at higher risk of COVID-19 due to age or comorbidities.”
Medical experts have been laying the groundwork to deliver additional booster doses to shore up the vaccines’ protection against serious disease and death from COVID-19.
The White House has asked Congress to “urgently” approve more funding for the federal government to get more doses of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Currently, the recommendation is a primary series of two doses of the Moderna vaccine and a booster dose months later.
Moderna said its request for an additional dose was based on “recently published data generated in the United States and Israel following the emergence of Omicron.”

Had the 1st round of ×2 Phizer shots. Hesitantly but did it more to possibly protect others. Done with the FDA n CDC’s experimental MRNA guinea pig vaccines. This technology has never been used before and it did not get a chance to be properly vetted in clinical trial tests. You don’t have to be a statistical analysis to see there are many bad side effects to these vaccines. Up to and including the deaths of young healthy males from 12-25 age group. And even older ages. Military personnel, professional athletes etc… Go right ahead and get the booster to the booster and on and on if you like. Free Country still. The supposed great vaccine didn’t stop me from getting the virus and hasn’t seemed to even remotely stop the transmission of it. If it helped save bunch of older people’s lifes with comorbidity issues thats Great. But the very fact that Pfizer tried to get a 75 year hold on public release of the clinical trials they did do, should highly concern anyone who gives a damn about their health and that of their loved ones. The very fact that Pfizer, Moderma n Johnson n Johnson promised clinical transparency but didn’t deliver is seriously conserning in itself. On top of all that the Biden administration trying to bribe, intimidate and to force the vaccine (especially on young healthy people, including children) on folks not even in a serious risk category is both unconscionable and wrong. Especially in this Constitutional Republic we call home. Were Americans are supposed to be Free and not have to condone nor tolerate an abusive government that violates its own rule of Law to Tyrinize the American People.
