Trump Legal Team Disavows Sidney Powell

• The president’s legal team has distanced themselves from attorney Sidney Powell following her outlandish conspiracy theories that claim widespread voter fraud.
• Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s personal lawyer, and Jenna Ellis, Senior Legal Adviser to the Trump campaign, declared that Powell was acting on her own and is not part of the campaign’s official legal team.
• Less than a week ago, however, Powell had famously appeared at last Thursday’s press conference alongside Giuliani and Ellis and was touted as part of the team by Trump himself.

President Donald Trump’s legal team disavowed attorney Sidney Powell following her outlandish conspiracy theories that claim widespread voter fraud.

During an interview with Newsmax TV on Saturday night, Powell claimed that Trump ally Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA) is complicit in voting machine fraud in the state.

On Sunday night, the Trump campaign released a statement disavowing Powell. According to the statement, Powell was acting on her own and is not part of the campaign’s official legal team.

The press release from Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s personal lawyer, and Jenna Ellis, Senior Legal Adviser to the Trump campaign, declared, “Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in a personal capacity.”

Less than a week ago, Powell had famously appeared at last Thursday’s press conference alongside Giuliani and Ellis. She stated several unsubstantiated allegations, such as a far-reaching scheme by conspirators — ranging from the Clinton Foundation, Antifa, George Soros, to the Venezuelan government (including former President Hugo Chavez, who died in 2013) — to steal the election.

Trump and his legal team, including Giuliani and Ellis, had listed Powell as part of their team at the time.
