Democrats Erect Irony-Filled Wall at Chicago Convention in Face of Expected Protests

With the Democratic National Convention due to commence this week in Chicago, Illinois, the decision to erect a wall as part of their security measures has led to some online ridicule. The wall, expected to serve as a barrier against potential protests, has become an ironic source of jest.
Store owners in the area are also taking protective measures to safeguard their businesses due to anticipated demonstrations. Scott Schapiro, owner of a menswear store that has experienced looting in the past, stressed the importance of being proactive.
“It’s better to be safe than sorry. Most retailers are eternal optimists. They always think tomorrow is going to be better than today, and you always hope for the best, but it doesn’t always work out that way“, said Schapiro.
Pictures shared on social media showing the fencing around the convention venue have provided fodder for critics. They point to the irony of the Democrats building a wall following their strong opposition to previous plans to construct a border wall.
“Wait!! Democrats told us walls are racist & they don’t work!“, commented Mary Walter on social media.
Furthering the irony, another critic posted, “Hey look… Democrats are building a wall around the DNC. They can build walls to keep protesters out but can’t build a wall to keep unauthorized immigrants out of the US.”
Another critique summarized the sentiment in a post, “Democrats: ‘Walls can’t protect US Borders!! Walls are RACIST!!’ Also Democrats: ‘We need a Wall around the entire Chicago DNC Convention to protect us.’.”
In addition to the wall, Chicago police officers are also preparing for the upcoming event. There are expectations of a large number of protesters, and as a result, the city’s police department has canceled officers’ time off ahead of the convention.
Police Union leader John Catanzara expressed his concern over the decision, arguing that it could negatively impact the officers’ morale just before such a high-stress event. “[It’s] a recipe for disaster,” he said.

Is it true in order to gain access to the convention center a valid id
Needed to be presented. But no id required to vote
Police presence. But they want to defund the police
If this is true this is hypocrisy. Seriously they need protection

These Democrats who were against the border wall are now for a fence to be built around the Convention because of possible rioting are such hypocrites!! I believe their only focus is the almighty dollar. They will sell the American people short for the greenback.
