In a bold legal move, former President Donald Trump has initiated a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News. The lawsuit accuses the network of engaging in “deceptive conduct” aimed at influencing the electoral process through its handling of an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to Trump’s attorneys, CBS News engaged in “malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion” with the intent to mislead the public and interfere with the election. They argue that these actions were designed to “tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party” as the 2024 Presidential Election approaches its climax.

The lawsuit highlights the significant damage purportedly caused to Trump, his campaign, and millions of citizens across the nation by CBS’s actions.

The controversy centers on an interview conducted by “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker with Vice President Harris. In a preview aired on “Face the Nation,” Harris provided a lengthy response to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stance towards the U.S.

However, during the primetime election special, a more concise version of her answer was broadcasted. Critics have mocked Harris for her “word salad” response and accused CBS of editing the interview to protect her from criticism.

CBS News has firmly denied these allegations, asserting that “the interview was not doctored” and that no part of Harris’s response was concealed. The network has refused to release the full transcript, citing First Amendment rights.

The lawsuit claims that CBS crossed a line from journalistic judgment to “deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news.” Trump’s lawyers argue that news organizations have a responsibility to “accurately represent the truth of events,” rather than distorting interviews to favor a particular candidate.

The legal action demands a jury trial and seeks at least $10 billion in damages for CBS’s alleged “ongoing false, misleading, and deceptive acts.” Trump’s team also calls for the release of all documents and communications related to the interview.

As the legal battle unfolds, CBS News has yet to respond to requests for comment. The case underscores the tensions between media outlets and political figures in the lead-up to a highly contested election.

It’s about time. I just want the news, not someone constantly trying to make me believe and think a certain way.

I agree with you. I prefer to form my own opinions not the news people and what they think. Walter Cronkite must be turning over in his grave.

America once had a free press to investigate and report openly about anything. No longer. It’s all controlled by their owners. Major news outlets no longer report the news nor investigate the accuracy of comments made. Instead, they offer their collective opinions, rationale, or repeat their narrative. They have become “influencers” who do the bidding of their owners to lead the flock down the path. They believe that when you tell the lie and repeat it over and over it will become the truth. I stopped reading newspapers, news magazines, and listening to TV news broadcasts years ago because of their continual biases toward everything that did not fit what they were “reporting”. If it did not fit their narrative or what they are selling, it’s buried, ignored, or worse defended by attorneys under the First Amendment rights.

AllI can say is AMEN to that, Charles! News should be ONLY REPORTED like it was in the past … reporters actually investigated and reported what they found without being fed news to report. The listeners never really knew what the reporter’s personal thoughts or opinions were.

The fact that CBS will NOT release Kamala Harris’s original comments on a FLIMSY EXCUSE “unheard of” by a major network is PROOF ENOUGH CBS doctored them. PRESIDENT ELECT TRUMP should CONTINUE with his $10 Billion Lawsuit against CBS BEYOND Novemberr 5th to STOP THIS ILLEGAL PRACTICE in the future — which ILLEGAL PRACTICE can certainly HURT THIS COUNTRY IN THE YEARS TO COME. And a Hearty Congratulations on your COMPLETE VICTORY FOR AMERICA, Mr.47th President !!!!! We Love You, Love You, LOVE YOU — for NEVER GIVING UP OR GIVING IN. FIGHT CBS and MAGA !
