According to a recent study by the Media Research Center (MRC), Twitter has become more oppressive since being acquired by Elon Musk. The study found 293 cases of documented censorship from Nov. 4, 2022, to Mar. 4, 2023, 67 more cases than the same period last year.

Furthermore, the MRC found that Twitter’s methods of censorship had become more severe. In 245 of the 293 documented cases of censorship on CensorTrack.org, Twitter locked users’ accounts, and in nearly all cases, users were required to delete the content to regain access to their accounts. Under the old Twitter regime, only 136 of the 226 documented cases of censorship consisted of locked accounts.

One of the most concerning findings of the study is that an astounding 62 percent of the censorship cases under Musk’s leadership involved tweets critical of transgenderism. The study found that at least 182 of the 293 documented cases of censorship recorded in the CensorTrack.org database for Twitter under Musk involved users being censored for speech critical of the left’s woke “transgender” narrative.

Recently, several journalists, a sitting member of Congress, and Federalist CEO Sean Davis were all locked out of Twitter for reporting on the “Trans Day Of Vengeance” after the Nashville Shooting. Twitter claimed Davis’ tweet reporting on the “Trans Day Of Vengeance” violated the app’s rules “against violent speech.”

Twitter not only locked Davis out of his account but also defamed him by falsely claiming he had “threatened, incited, glorified, or expressed a desire for violence.” Davis addressed the ban, writing, “Twitter has a right to ban me for whatever reason it wants, but it doesn’t have a right to viciously lie about me.”

Davis has also been subjected to Twitter’s shadow banning that carried over from the platform’s previous regime. Additionally, Federalist Senior Editor John Davidson has been locked out of his account for a full year because he tweeted the biological fact that Rachel Levine, the Biden administration’s transgender assistant secretary for health, is a man.

Despite appeals made by both Davis and Davidson since Musk purchased the company, both remain censored on Twitter.
