Hollywood Director and Wife Slain After Family Dispute

Family friends reported a heated exchange between Nick and his parents at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Saturday evening. Witnesses described Nick’s behavior as erratic and concerning.
“Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,” a party guest told People magazine.
After a loud argument at the party, Rob and Michele left early. The following day, their bodies were found in their bedroom by Los Angeles Fire Department officials, and police identified them as victims of homicide.
LAPD Assistant Police Chief Dominic Choi stated, “Upon arrival, officers located two deceased individuals inside the residence, later identified as Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner. Both victims were found in the master bedroom of the area of the home.”
No other victims or suspects were found at the home. Nick Reiner was identified early on as a person of interest and was arrested late Sunday night.
LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said in a press conference, “First of all, our hearts go out to the family and friends of the Reiners.”
Officials revealed the couple died from stab wounds and found no evidence of forced entry. As the investigation proceeds, Nick Reiner remains in custody with bail set at $4 million.
