McConnell berates RNC, calls Jan. 6 a ‘violent insurrection’ [Video]

  • Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) broke from the Republican National Committee’s rhetoric regarding Jan. 6.
  • McConnell described the incident as “a violent insurrection” aimed at preventing “the peaceful transfer of power.”
  • He also rebuked the RNC for censuring two fellow GOP lawmakers for their participation in the investigation.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has condemned the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — a position that breaks from the Republican National Committee, who just recently censured two GOP lawmakers for participating in the investigation.

The Kentucky senator said during a news conference, “We all were here. We saw what happened. It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election, from one administration to the next. That’s what it was.”

The RNC drew backlash from Democrats as well as several Republicans after they approved a resolution against Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) for being the only GOP members in the House panel investigating the Jan. 6 riot.

The RNC called the panel “a Democrat-led persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse.”

McConnell rebuked the RNC for “picking and choosing Republicans who ought to be supported.”

“The issue is whether or not the RNC should be, sort of, singling out members of our party who may have different views from the majority. That’s not the job of the RNC,” he said, adding that the committee should be supporting all members of the party.

Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) seems to still side with the RNC. He has evaded questions about the committee’s rhetoric regarding Jan. 6, but has expressed his agreement with their censure resolution.

“This is a pure political committee. I think those two individuals would have a hard time ever coming back to Congress,” McCarthy said, referring to Kinzinger and Cheney.

McConnell and McCarthy also contrast in their strategies for the 2022 midterm election.

McCarthy plans on staying loyal to former President Donald Trump and counts on his support to become speaker as he aims to win back the House majority for the Republicans.

McConnell, meanwhile, has distanced himself from the radical side of the conservatives and is aiming to attract swing voters.

Voters would be better off voting this archaic RINO out of office. Find another Republican or Conservative to run against McConnell. McConnell has a lot of disdain and hatred for Trump, and that goes back to the Paul Ryan days. Ryan was no fan of Trump either. McConnell puts the blame for the Capital fiasco squarely on Trump. Don ‘t be surprised if McConnell doesn’t vote to impeach Lying Corrupt Quid Pro KING Joe. McConnell likes to talk out of both sides of his mouth. The GOP better have a plan (B) just in case Trump isn’t the candidate for 2024.

Yes, it is definitely time for this Rino to go, for he does more harm to the RNC than good. He is a democrat in disguise. If he was there, he knows that the violence was done by leftist plants, not the peaceful protesters. The left must be paying him well for his betrayal of his party.

McConnell won’t be able to vote to impeach anyone, that’s done in the House of Representatives. If Sleepy Joe ever gets impeached, when it gets to the Senate for the trial to remove him from office, at that time he could vote to find him guilty.

All I will say is that if (when?) he finally gets knocked off his post is that he had best hope he doesn’t end up on his back as everyone knows that turtles cannot turn over by themselves.
Here’s a quick conversation for him – how many thousands of the attendees did absolutely NOTHING wrong – well unless he counts peacefully assembling as ‘insurrection’.

This total grub has turned his back on America big time; The Chinese paid him a fee of FIVE MILLION just prior to the election purportedly as payment his Chinese wife made with the Chinese Govt. over some shipping deal. This little insect accepted the money and immediately stabbed Trump in the back. I believe the word TREASON is just the start to describe this judas to America! He should not only be kicked out of the RNC but he should never be allowed to represent the Republicans ever again! He is scum from the toilet and anyone who gives him just one vote is not a REPUBLICAN but an associate TRAITOR!

McConnell is too worried about his shipping business with China than he is about the welfare of the American people!
