WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • An editorial by the New York Post two days ago advised Donald Trump to “use his considerable charm and influence to support Georgia candidates by mobilizing his voters for them instead of spending his final days in office focusing on his own grievances.”
  • It said that he should divert his fury into something more productive and that is to do what he can so that a Republican Senate emerges on January 6.
  • The editorial went on that a Republican Senate can capitalize on Trump’s accomplishments and also prevent Biden from stopping what he has already started.

An editorial by the New York Post two days ago advised Donald Trump to “use his considerable charm and influence to support Georgia candidates by mobilizing his voters for them instead of spending his final days in office focusing on his own grievances.”

It said that Trump should stop obsessing with January 6 when Congress will certify the Electoral College vote, proclaiming Joe Biden as the next president, but should pay attention to January 5 when two runoff races in Georgia will determine which party will control the Senate.

This is a crucial point, the post says, as this will determine whether Biden will lock in his agenda or have the necessary counter-check.

It further stated that Trump should already give up his effort in investigating the election since his campaign already paid $3 million for a recount in two Wisconsin counties, the result of which just reconfirmed Biden’s win.

The same also happened in the two recounts in Georgia. With the ballots recounted by hand, the claims of a Venezuelan vote-manipulating Kraken conspiracy was debunked.

The editorial said that the anger he felt because he lost is understandable, but to continue on with his rage is only damaging both for him and the nation. It said that he should divert his fury into something more productive and that is to do what he can so that a Republican Senate emerges on January 6.

It went on further by stimulating Trump to imagine a government controlled by his nemeses, namely, Nancy Pelosi in the House, Chuck Schumer in the Senate, and Biden in the White House.

It posted questions as taunting as “How high will taxes go?”; “How many of your initiatives will be strangled?”; and, “On a personal note, do you think they won’t spend the next four years torturing you with baseless hearings and investigations?”

On the contrary, the editorial went on, a Republican Senate can capitalize on Trump’s accomplishments and also prevent Biden from stopping what he has already started.

It can stop Biden from opening that country’s southern border, can counter him against going back to the failed Iran deal, and will prevent him from packing the Supreme Court.
