  • The president’s reelection campaign has rejected the claims that teens sabotaged the audience turnout at the Oklahoma rally by reserving tickets ahead of time.
  • Campaign manager Brad Parscale argued that the fake reservations couldn’t have worked because people could only register for Tulsa’s BOK Center rally via cell phone.
  • Parscale then blamed the media for playing along, accusing them of being “willing dupes to the charade.”

TikTok teens and K-Pop fans claimed to have sabotaged the audience turnout at President Donald Trump’s Oklahoma rally by reserving tickets ahead of time.

The president’s reelection campaign has rejected the claims on Sunday, however.

Campaign manager Brad Parscale declared: “Leftists and online trolls doing a victory lap, thinking they somehow impacted rally attendance, don’t know what they’re talking about or how our rallies work.”

Parscale then blamed the media for playing along, accusing them of “gleefully” writing about the scam without confirming with the campaign first. He remarked that the press “behaved unprofessionally and were willing dupes to the charade.”

Parscale then pointed out that people could only register for Tulsa’s BOK Center rally via cell phone. He added, “We constantly weed out bogus numbers, as we did with tens of thousands at the Tulsa rally. These phony ticket requests never factor into our thinking.”

He again blamed the media for discouraging Trump supporters against attending the rally by spreading fear of the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing nationwide protests against racial injustice.

Parscale remarked, “For the media to now celebrate the fear that they helped create is disgusting, but typical. And it makes us wonder why we bother credentialing media for events when they don’t do their full jobs as professionals.”

After several images showing a lot of empty seats at the BOK Center circulated online, TikTok users and fans of Korean pop music took credit for orchestrating the empty seats.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) acknowledged the teens’ efforts in a response to Parscale that read: “Actually, you just got ROCKED by teens on TikTok who flooded the Trump campaign w/fake ticket reservations & tricked you into believing a million people wanted your white supremacist open mic enough to pack an arena during COVID.”
