Former President Donald Trump reportedly floated the idea of starting a war between Russia and China during an event for Republican donors on Saturday.

A recording of his speech was obtained by The Washington Post.

Speaking to about 250 elite Republican donors, Trump suggested bombing “the s*** out of Russia” with F-22 fighter jets disguised with “the Chinese flag.”

“And then we say, China did it, we didn’t do it,” he continued. “Then they start fighting with each other and we sit back and watch.”

A source told CBS News that the audience laughed at his remarks, which were perceived as a joke.

It would be highly unlikely that Russia would believe such a disguise, however, given the F-22’s distinct appearance, the Post pointed out.

The deceptive move would also be a violation of the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the use of another nation’s flag, insignia, or uniform during an armed conflict.

Law professor William Banks of Syracuse University explained to the Post, “A ruse like that one is perfidy and violates [international humanitarian law] and customary international law. Perfidy in lay terms is treachery.”

Trump has made previous remarks that praised Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion strategy of Ukraine as “brilliant” and “genius.”

Meanwhile, at the same event for GOP donors on Friday, former Vice President Mike Pence declared that the party doesn’t tolerate Putin “apologists.” He did not call Trump out specifically.

Trump also sang praises for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whom he called “seriously tough.”

He talked about how the dictator’s top generals and aides “cower” before him and sit “at attention.” He added, “I looked at my people and said, ‘I want my people to act like that.’” His remarks elicited more laughter from the audience.

Like most of his public speeches, Trump also repeated false claims that he was victorious in the 2020 presidential election.

Sometimes, most of the time, Trump can be such a schmuck. Communist China and Russia are the best of buddies. they are only the best of buddies, when Communist China needs something from Russia, like re-engineering Russian fighter jets, so they don’t have to buy them from Russia. Ignorant joke and not funny. It’s only funny to Trump. why would Communist China. What if Israel painted their fighter jets with American markings and then bombed Tehran’s nuclear facilities? I bet Trump wouldn’t think that was funny if Teheran vaporized DC with a nuke.
