WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Donald Trump said on Fox & Friends Sunday that he’s not yet done in contesting the election results despite losing another suit filed in Texas.
  • Trump was disappointed with how the federal judges and the Supreme Court handled his legal cases.
  • Trump argued that the Supreme Court’s decision was trivial and not on the merits per se.

During an interview with Fox & Friends that aired on Sunday, President Donald Trump said that his quest toward overturning the presidential election results is still “not over,” but admitted that he was dismayed at the Supreme Court for dismissing Texas’ lawsuit.

“No, it’s not over. We keep going and we’re going to continue to go forward. We have numerous local cases,” the president said.

He argued that if some of the cities in the states that were involved in the suit could be reviewed and changed, he would be reelected.

“Now, if you look at it it’s not even four or five states, it’s five cities — Milwaukee, right, Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta. Take those — Pittsburgh you could add. So it’s five cities, it’s four cities. It’s even three cities — because I don’t need five,” Trump said.

“So nobody can go in and say, ‘Oh congratulations on running a good race.’ They didn’t run a good race. They cheated. They dropped hundreds of thousands of ballots. They did things that nobody has ever seen and we caught them,” he added.

Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade then pointed out that his team’s efforts to overturn the results in four key battleground states (Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) were denied by judges.

“Excuse me, we’ve proven it. But no judge has had the courage, including the Supreme Court. I am so disappointed in that. No judge, including the Supreme Court of the United States, has had the courage to allow it to be heard,” Trump argued.

On Friday, the Supreme Court revoked Texas’ suit against Biden’s victory in the four key swing states. It was one of the last-minute efforts by Trump and his allies to halt the December 14 deadline before the Electoral College formally elects Joe Biden as President.

“Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections… All other pending motions are denied as moot,” the court said.

According to Trump, the basis of the verdict was not because of the case’s merits but its technicalities.

“They’re winning these things on little technicalities like a thing called standing. They’re saying the president of the United States does not have standing,” he argued.

Trump also said that lots of people claimed election irregularities as his campaign secured thousands of affidavits.

“I got more votes than any president in the history of our country – in the history of our country. Not even close — 75 million. Far more than Obama, far more than anybody. And they say we lost an election.”
