WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he fears that the world is “on the brink of a terrible food crisis” after Russia seized large parts of Ukraine’s coast.
  • “This means that, unfortunately, there may be a physical shortage of products in dozens of countries around the world,” Zelensky said.
  • Ukraine is struggling to export wheat, corn, vegetables, and other products due to the Russian blockade.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a stark warning that millions of people could starve due to a Russian blockade of Ukraine’s Black Sea ports. He said the blockade had left the world “on the brink of a terrible food crisis.”

Russia has seized large parts of Ukraine’s coast, blocking farm exports and driving up the cost of grain.

Zelensky said Ukraine was now unable to export large amounts of wheat, corn, vegetable oil and other products that had played a “stabilizing role in the global market”.

“Millions of people may starve if the Russian blockade of the Black Sea continues,” he said in a video statement to the TIME100 Gala 2022 in New York that was released by Ukrainian authorities on Thursday.

Moscow is being accused of weaponizing food supplies by Ukraine and the West. But, Russia puts the blame on Ukrainian mines laid at sea and international sanctions on Moscow.

Since Feb. 24, the first day of the Russian invasion, Kyiv has been forced to transport grain by train via Ukraine’s western border or via small Danube river ports. The nation used to export most of its goods through seaports.

Zelensky said he was grateful to President Joe Biden for “uniting the free world when the Russian threat arose”.

He also appealed to Ukraine’s allies to provide the country with additional weapons, drawing comparisons between what he described as Russian hatred and COVID-19.

“Weapons and sanctions are also a vaccine: a vaccine against COVID-22 brought by Russia. Hatred is a virus, and it’s even more deadly than COVID-19,” he said.

Moscow says its “special military operation” in Ukraine is intended to disarm and “denazify” its neighbor. Ukraine and its allies say Moscow has launched an unprovoked war of aggression.

Britney has been going to Russia for a long time. She knew the risk she was taking when she broke the law and the penalty for doing it…
I hate to say it but she shouldn’t expect to be treated any different than anyone else. If she is being treated differently; that’s another subject…

Millions may starve only if people don’t act promptly. This article points out two different ways to get grains and other foodstuffs out of the Ukraine. Besides, if our EPA and FDA actually paid attention to the rest of the world, they would realize that our farmers could sell grains and produce to European nations if they stopped spraying toxins on our fields. If we banned the same things as Europe has banned, they could have plenty of food, and we could have another market besides China. It’s of no concern to the factory farm corporations if they poison the American citizens. The only reason it doesn’t happen in many other nations is because they have governments focused on what is good for the people, rather than the corporations. We don’t have that luxury in America.

That’s right. The corporations, and more specifically their owners, own and run the world. The rest is mythology created by them. Something all of you instinctively know if you take a good look at the past and the multiple coincidences. So….. do you boycott your only food source? No one in piwer will listen or act.
