Biden condemns Buffalo shooting: ‘White supremacy is poison in America’ [Video]
- President Joe Biden visited Buffalo, New York on Tuesday after a young white supremacist carried out a racist attack on a supermarket, killing 10.
- Biden delivered his remarks, offered consolations to the families of the victims and called to reject racism, extremism and white supremacy.
- The president condemned ‘domestic terrorism’ and called white supremacy “poison” in America.
President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden visited Buffalo, New York on Tuesday following the recent mass shooting in a supermarket.
Biden condemned the attack as an act of domestic terrorism and called white supremacy “poison” in America.
“White supremacy is a poison. It’s a poison … running through our body politic,” Biden said in his speech, adding that “the ideology of White supremacy has no place in America.”
He vowed, “In America, evil will not win, I promise you. Hate will not prevail. White supremacy will not have the last word.”
Biden also paid tribute to those killed in the shooting and consoled the families of the victims.
He started by naming each victim and reading personal details about them. The president almost choked up as he was telling the story of one of the victims who went to the supermarket to buy his son a birthday cake.Â
The president also addressed the so-called “great replacement” theory which was repeatedly referenced in a screed allegedly written by the 18-year-old suspect, Payton S. Gendron.
“A hate that through the media and politics, the internet, has radicalized angry alienated, lost and isolated individuals into falsely believing that they will be replaced. That’s the word — replaced — by the other,” Biden said.
He then called on all Americans to “reject the lie.” Then, he warned that “tragedy will come again” and said that “there are certain things we can do.”
“We can keep assault weapons off our streets.”
“We can’t prevent people from being radicalized to violence, but we can address the relentless exploitation of the internet to recruit and mobilize terrorism. We just need to have the courage to do that, to stand up.”

Biden’s “stiff as a board” reading from the teleprompters seemed like he was trying to imitate his buddy AlGore. biden is wrong! There is no such thing as “white supremacy. Biden is just doing his divide and conquer routine in order to take our attention away from the damage he is now and has been doing to our country. God said that we will each be judged by our ACTS. Each person is accountable for their own actions. biden would obviously love to start a race war. That is evil!
