Congressman Andy Biggs of Arizona’s fifth district recently announced his intention to run for governor of Arizona. His decision has encouraged other Republicans to consider advancing their careers by pursuing higher offices.
Mark Lamb, who served eight years as Pinal County sheriff and was a 2024 Senate candidate, is weighing a campaign for Congress. Lamb has been in talks with his family and believes strongly in traditional values and constitutional freedoms.
“I’ve talked to Congressman Andy Biggs a lot about it, who I hope is our next governor,” Lamb said on the “Furthermore with Amanda Head” podcast. “We’ve had a lot of conversations.”
“I’ve spent a lot of time in D.C. I am absolutely giving it strong consideration,” Lamb said regarding a possible congressional race.
“If I feel like I can make a difference in some way to protect God, family, freedom, the Constitution, guns … all of those things, then absolutely I would,” Lamb stated. “I would do it, but I’ve always had a saying, [that] just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. And my family and I are certainly weighing out whether we should make that move.”
Sens. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, as well as South Carolina Representatives Ralph Norman and Nancy Mace, are launching gubernatorial bids for 2026.
Tennessee Representatives Tim Burchett and Andy Ogles have shown interest in Blackburn’s seat. Ogles remarked, “Definitely interested in it. I’ve expressed my interest.” Burchett emphasized a strong professional relationship with Blackburn, saying, “We sat beside each other in the state Senate. Literally, she was on my right hand, I was on her left. We’ve had a great friendship.”
With Tuberville entering the governor’s race, Rep. Barry Moore announced his campaign for Alabama’s Senate seat in 2026. “I’m running for U.S. Senate because the people of Alabama deserve a Trump conservative and a working man who will defend their freedoms,” Moore declared.
As prominent GOP lawmakers seek new opportunities, the Republican Party is positioning itself to uphold traditional values in future elections.
