Woman Receives 50 Years for Horrific Crime Against Pregnant Teenager

In a shocking turn of events in 2019, Figueroa was found to have lured the pregnant teenager to her home in Chicago. There, she used a butcher knife to forcibly remove Ochoa-Lopez’s unborn child from her womb, after which Figueroa was promptly apprehended and put on trial.

“The memory of my infant son’s last breath in my arms is complete agony,” said Yovanny Lopez, the grieving father of the stolen baby, expressing the distressing reality that their older son would now be without his mother forever.

It was reported that Figueroa had previously lost her adult son due to natural causes. After the grief-stricken event, she falsely announced to her family that she was pregnant and had been plotting to acquire a newborn baby for months.

She targeted Ochoa-Lopez after meeting her on a Facebook page dedicated to pregnant women where the teenager had posted an ultrasound and pictures of a decorated room for her unborn child.

Following the murder, Figueroa made a manipulative 911 call claiming she had given birth to an unresponsive child. However, DNA tests challenged her lie, proving that the child was not hers.

Police later found Ochoa-Lopez’s body discarded in a garbage can outside Figueroa’s home.

The late teenager’s mother fondly remembered her daughter in 2019, saying, “My daughter was a very joyful girl. She had a lot of dreams.” Ochoa-Lopez’s husband echoed her sentiment, adding that she wanted to achieve great things, like all of us.
