Biden “determined” on plan to ban assault weapons [Video]
- President Biden expressed his determination to ban assault weapons nationwide.
- The president called on voters to vote against officials who are against the ban.
- He also unveiled a plan to strengthen community policing by recruiting, hiring, and training 100,000 additional police officers nationwide.
President Joe Biden renewed his vow to issue a nationwide ban on assault weapons during his speech in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Biden pointed out that the administration was able to take on the NRA before. He declared, “I’m determined to ban assault weapons in this country. Determined. I did it once before and I’ll do it again.”
He called on voters to hold their officials accountable and ask them their stance on banning assault weapons. He said, “‘Are you for banning assault weapons? Yes or no?’ Ask them. And if the answer is no, vote against them.”
Following a string of mass shootings in June, Biden urged Congress to reinstate the assault weapons ban. The said ban was passed in 1994 but expired under President George W. Bush in 2004.
The president detailed his public safety plan called “Safer America Plan.” He said that it should be simple: “the answer is not defund the police, it’s fund the police.”
Biden plans to recruit, hire, and train over 100,000 additional police officers nationwide for community policing. He acknowledged that public safety can be undermined when “public trust is frayed,” but he argued that it’s important to have “officers on the street” to fight crime.
He also called out the attacks against the FBI following the raid at former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, saying that “There’s no place in this country, no place, for endangering the lives of law enforcement.”
Biden signed a bipartisan gun safety bill into law in June, indicating the most significant federal gun legislation in nearly three decades. The law strengthened background checks and clarified several loopholes, among other provisions.
Wilkes-Barre is located in northeastern Pennsylvania near Biden’s hometown of Scranton. What was once a one-time Democratic stronghold has become more Republican in recent years.
The president still has at least two other visits scheduled over the next week in the state. On Thursday, he’s set to give a primetime speech in Philadelphia, and on Monday, he’s attending a Labor Day celebration in Pittsburgh.
Trump is also scheduled to visit near Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Brilliant, the democrats have defunded the police all across America and we are supposed to believe that they are now reversing their policy. Regarding so-called assault weapons ban, sure, the second amendment was put in place in case the country was taken over by tyrants as in election fraud. The game is up Joe or should I say Barry and Valerie. We know what you are trying to do to America. By the way, we will not take the bait and become violent so you can set the military on us.

Will (so called) Americans never listen, never mind learn? Years ago the communists told us they would “assist” American leaders with SOCIALISM until one day we would wake up and discover we’re communists after all. Isn’t that whats happening if not already done? Why else would half the country vote communist (democrat)? And BTW that 2020 stolen election was not because of a stupid electorate, because the communist democrat party never thought they would actually win especially with JoeBama and what’s her name.

Biden and his crew went from defund the police to fund the police. What they do not spell out is they want to to hire police force members to perform all kinds of touchy-feely community out reach programs. They do not want them to patrol the streets and actually interfere with criminals.

Along with the communist District Attorney and Judges that masquerade justice in our court rooms. Reinstate capital punishment in all fifty states and use it. Implement a three strikes your out protocol for career criminals. Enforce the damn laws! If they refuse to enforce them they loose their license to practice law.

Dementia Joe is so deluded he has no clue what he or his puppet masters are telling him to say. To tell HALF of America that they are “fascists” is absolutely insane. It’s like Hilldabeast calling half “deplorables”, how’d that work out? Joe shouting that MAGA followers might have AR15’s ( a semi-automatic firearm not suitable for combat and would NEVER qualify as an “assault weapon) but he has fighter jets. Well, my grandson flys one of those fighter jets, one of my son’s is a commander in the Army and another son is in Coast Guard. Does he REALLY believe OUR children are going to take out mom and dad at his command?
