Renowned Emmy-winning actress Drea de Matteo, known for her role in the popular HBO series “The Sopranos,” has recently disclosed that a substantial number of celebrities disapprove of President Biden’s policies. However, they are often hesitant to voice this opposition.
In a candid podcast interview, de Matteo expressed her disagreements with Biden’s agenda. She stated, “I just don’t know that they’re here to support the American people,” while discussing the influx of able-bodied, fighting-age men illegally crossing the border.
“I really did want to fight, but I didn’t think I had, A, the voice, B, the balls,” de Matteo confessed, reflecting on her initial hesitations. However, her perspective shifted tremendously after feeling abandoned.
“And once I was out there, I was like, ‘I’m out here, what am I going to do? I’m out of my cage.’ Like, I may as well just, you know, do what I got to do.” The actress credits her new-found courage to the support she received from her boyfriend, her faith, and her children.
“They believe in what we believe in, which is freedom and unity the right way, not unity the way this administration was trying to push. That was bulls—.”
In the course of the interview, it was shared that several of de Matteo’s former co-stars were met in New York, and it was observed that not all of them leaned liberally. Despite these observations, there was respect for their privacy and no intention to disclose their political leanings until they were ready.
The question was raised if de Matteo had noticed other Hollywood actors also questioning current policies, but who were not as vocal in expressing their doubts.
In response, de Matteo continued her critique of Biden’s governance, contending that, “They took every social agenda and used that and used these social issues as pawns to further their administration, did nothing but divide people.”
According to her, the current political atmosphere is charged with fear. “This administration has just been hammering all of these things,” she argued. “People in Hollywood are petrified. What, are you going to speak out against race, and sex, and all of that stuff? People are afraid to have those conversations… you’re just never gonna win.”
