WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

  • Manhattan district attorney’s investigation into former President Donald Trump’s role in a payment to porn star Stormy Daniels appears to be heading towards an indictment.
  • Trump was invited to testify before the grand jury examining the potential case, which legal experts say suggests an indictment is imminent.
  • If Trump were indicted, he would be the first former U.S. president ever to be charged with a crime.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office has been investigating whether the $130,000 payment that Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen, made to porn star Stormy Daniels on the eve of the 2016 election amounted to an illegal campaign contribution.

Cohen has claimed that he was directed by Trump to make the payment and was later reimbursed. The investigation has been ongoing for nearly five years and appears to be heading towards an indictment.

Last week, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg invited Trump to testify before the grand jury hearing the case, which legal experts say suggests an indictment is imminent. Trump would be the first former U.S. president ever to be charged with a crime if indicted.

The investigation centers around whether the payment to Daniels constituted an illegal campaign contribution. Under New York law, falsifying business records can be considered a misdemeanor, or a felony if it is done in connection with a more serious crime.

It remains unclear whether the district attorney has uncovered evidence that would result in felony charges.

Cohen, who served for more than a decade as Trump’s lawyer and fixer before his 2018 conviction, is Bragg’s star witness. However, his credibility and honesty have been questioned due to his past convictions and documented vendetta against Trump. Legal experts say that prosecutors typically like to have corroboration of what the individual is saying, and it remains to be seen what evidence the district attorney has.

Question? Why is New York Government investigating Trump for campaign issues? I would think the Federal Government and the Federal Election Commission were responsible for investigating campaign spending?

Besides, where was this tyrst and payment made? Am I to understand, New York condones prostitution, tax evasion and extortion under their laws and then goes after the perp for not declaring the payment? What about the all the tax monies not collected in the payment between other Prostitutes and John’s?

This is nothing more than a Democrat State inserting laws, for a vendetta and political purpose, against and only for this select individual!
Think about all the corruption Rangel committed, how about Barney, how bout Shumer, how about Clinton? Anyone can see how these individuals walk away from their corrupt dealing and not declaring Federal Campaign Funds. New York picks and choose their victims!

The democrats will do anything to make Trump look bad, whether it is true or not. They are scared to death that he will run again and be re-elected, because they had very little control over the people when he was in office. He made them look bad because they had done nothing to help the people and he did. Their only concern was to help themselves and it still is. I wish sometimes we could do away with both parties and let everyboy vote for whoever they think will do the best joke. Right now most people vote their political affillation, regardless of how sorry or crookrd they are.I think the day of the honest politician is long gone..
