Massachusetts Drug Raid Uncovers Lethal Fentanyl Supply
Clear Facts
- Federal agents arrested 50 people in Lawrence, Massachusetts during a drug raid on Thursday.
- Authorities seized over 10 kilograms of fentanyl and firearms during the operation.
- The Department of Justice organized the raid as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods to curb violent crime.
Federal agents conducted a targeted law enforcement operation in Lawrence, resulting in the arrest of 50 individuals linked to illegal drugs and weapons.
The action aimed to disrupt criminal activities and ensure safer communities under federal initiatives.
“During today’s operation, we seized some guns, but we also seized over 10 kilograms of fentanyl,” U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said at a news conference.
“The amount of fentanyl we have seized today could kill half the state.”
Lelling attributed Lawrence’s status as a drug hub to its strategic location.
“Lawrence is a clearing house for illegal drugs pouring into New Hampshire and Maine via I-93 and I-495,” he said.
This decisive enforcement action reflects a commitment to combat the ongoing opioid crisis and protect American families.
