Police Issue Warning Over New iPhone Update
Clear Facts
- Police warn of privacy concerns with iPhone’s new “NameDrop” feature.
- NameDrop is automatically turned on for users who have downloaded the iOS 17.1 update.
- Apple has not made a statement about this feature or the privacy concerns it poses.
Local police have issued a warning to residents about a new feature available on the latest iPhone update, which could potentially intrude on people’s privacy.
The feature, called “NameDrop,” allows iPhone and Apple Watch users to quickly share information with each other. It is available to anyone who has downloaded the iOS 17.1 update. However, police departments across the country have warned that this feature can lead to users unintentionally sharing their contact information with strangers.
NameDrop is automatically turned on for users who have downloaded this update. For those who want to turn this feature off, they can go to the iPhone or Apple Watch’s settings, click “General,” then “AirDrop,” and finally switch “Bringing Devices Together” off.
“Don’t forget to change these settings after the update on your children’s phones as well,” a statement from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.
Apple has not made a statement about this feature or the privacy concerns that it poses. Most recently, Apple is one of several companies that suspended their ad campaigns on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Clear Thoughts
Apple’s latest iPhone update, iOS 17.1, introduced the “NameDrop” feature, which has stirred up privacy concerns. Local police departments warn about the potential intrusion of this feature, as it automatically shares users’ contact information with strangers.
Apple’s silence on this issue is deafening, and it raises questions about their commitment to users’ privacy. When tech giants like Apple push updates without considering the consequences, it’s the users who suffer.
It’s time for Apple to address these concerns and prioritize privacy over convenience.

Here’s the deal. The social media and China platforms have taken your information and you’re at risk anyway. The ones who use these services don’t care of don’t pay attention to any warnings. The whole idea of this is to get you hooked, like any good drug dealer keep them coming back. And they do, over, and over again.

Of coure, Apple has no comment…Just like all the evil Democrats we see getting grilled on Capital Hill every single day. Never an answer and never ANY responsibility for anything their evil hearts do to us. It’s now taught in our finest colleges and universities as you’ll notice all Democrat voters coming out of these institutions never have a coherent thought and never have any responsibility in their little insignificant mooching lives!

Everyone has this backwards. Never before have police departments ever cared about cell phone data breach. The reason the police are all over this is because it circumvents surveillance. Apple doesn’t want to admit this, as it goes against woke policy of government control over free speech. Apple has always had very robust defense against data breaches and cyber attacks. Apple would not compromise that reputation.
