WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Joe Biden appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday night and talked about gun control efforts.
  • Biden said he has taken executive orders “within the power of the presidency to be able to deal with everything having to do with guns.”
  • The president also did not waste the chance to take a swipe at Republicans and former President Donald Trump.

In his first network appearance, President Joe Biden discussed gun control efforts on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday night.

The president even took a swipe at Republicans saying, “A lot of it is intimidation by the NRA. Look, this is not your father’s Republican Party. This is a MAGA party.”

The president also talked about his visit to Uvalde, Texas, where he met the families of victims of the recent school shooting at Robb Elementary.

“I met with every single family member of all those kids killed, and those teachers killed down in Uvalde, Texas,” he shared. “The stories they told and the pain you could see on their faces.”

Kimmel pressed Biden about the possibility of an executive order on gun control, noting that former President Donald Trump “passed those out like Halloween candy.”

“I have issued executive orders within the power of the presidency to be able to deal with everything having to do with guns, gun ownership… all of the things that are within my power,” Biden replied.

He added that he doesn’t want to “emulate” his predecessor’s abuse of the constitution.

“But what I don’t want to do, and I’m not being facetious, I don’t want to emulate Trump’s abuse of the constitution and constitutional authority,” Biden said.

“I often get asked, ‘Look, the Republicans don’t play it square, why do you play it square?’” Biden continued. “Well, guess what? If we do the same thing they do, our democracy would literally be in jeopardy. It’s not a joke.”

Kimmel then told Biden how he thinks Democrats are ‘frustrated’ because of the very little progress they made when it comes to guns, reproductive rights, voting rights and climate change.

Biden claimed, “we’ve actually made some real moves” in regards to climate change, citing efforts to push solar and wind energy, and electric-powered vehicles.

Despite the fact that the country is currently facing record-high inflation and soaring gas prices, Biden touted that the U.S. has “the fastest-growing economy in the world. We have 8.6 million new jobs since I got into office. Unemployment rate’s down to 3.6%. We reduced the deficit last year by $320 billion. This year we’re gonna reduce it by $1.7 trillion.”

He admitted that inflation is “the bane of our existence” and indicated efforts in lowering the cost of healthcare, prescription drugs and childcare.

Biden also said that American children are the best educated, the least prejudiced, and the most giving generation in American history.

The last part of the interview was about the forthcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision that may overturn Roe v. Wade. Biden said he doesn’t think “the country will stand for it” if the high court overrules Roe. He then hinted about some executive orders that he could use to counteract the decision.

The president said overturning Roe v. Wade Can lead to a “mini-revolution” and many politicians could get voted out of office.

Biden boasts he’s responsible for 8.6 million new jobs! lol! That’s almost true! With this country’s taxpayers’ money, He’s paying 8.5 million “new” freeloaders to sit at home on their fat useless asses to be nothing but a burden to society and vote for Democrats. That’s their “new” job, and the freeloading POS people still whine they need more money. This country needs to eliminate welfare. If the lazy fat bastards had to work and pay taxes, they wouldn’t vote for Democrat politicians.
