Broadcast Blunder Sparks Election Integrity Concerns
Clear Facts
- An ABC affiliate, WNEP, mistakenly aired test election results during a broadcast of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix.
- The test results showed Harris winning Pennsylvania, though these numbers were randomly generated and not reflective of any actual votes.
- WNEP has apologized for the error and assured viewers that measures are in place to prevent future occurrences.
In a surprising turn of events, viewers tuning into the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix on Sunday were met with unexpected election results flashing across their screens. The ABC affiliate, WNEP, inadvertently broadcasted test results for the upcoming November 5 general election.
The numbers, which bizarrely showed Harris winning Pennsylvania, were not indicative of any real voting outcomes.
According to WNEP, these figures were “randomly generated test results” intended to ensure that news organizations’ equipment is functioning correctly ahead of election night.
Such internal tests are a routine practice for local stations to prepare for the big day. However, the timing and nature of this “accident” in a key battleground state have raised eyebrows.
WNEP has expressed regret over the incident, stating, “WNEP regrets the error and apologizes for any confusion.” They have also taken steps to prevent similar mishaps in the future.
While the station assures viewers that this was merely a glitch, the incident has certainly sparked discussions around the integrity of election results broadcasting.
As the nation gears up for the upcoming elections, ensuring accurate and reliable reporting remains paramount.

Why not fine them a couple million dollars and then donate that to the Trump’s war chest. Until there is a substantial fine they will continue to flaunt the democrat folks. Then beg off as a little boy caught in a lie.

I agree Frank. Until these media stations are held accountable…they will continue. 2012 Obama snuck into NDAA Hr4310 sect 1078 which basically nullified the 1948 Smith Mundt Act- which protected the US/US citizens from Gvnt and gvnt controlled media from using propaganda within US. This HR4310/1078 now gives gvt and the media it supports- the right to lie all they want with NO repercussions. This needs to be revisited/nullified or whatever it is. Then we have 1968 Sullivan v NYT since NewYorkTimes won the case- Media can basically lie all they want and claim- they were unaware the source was bad- in other words lie and get away with it, type thing. NYT put out a full page ad- slandered Sullivan—This case makes it almost impossible for public figures to sue media. Sadly, SCOTUS Judge Clarence-Thomas said he was going to look into/re-evaluate…but he dropped the ball. Until they somehow manage to get media under control, they can pretty much say whatever they want and pretend they are reporting ‘news’ when in actuality it is their nasty slanderous opinions. (like Joy Reid, Rachael Maddow, Anderson Cooper and so on) Trump KNOWs how bad they are and hopefully he forms a dept or something to correct this.
