Former professional wrestler Nikki Bella has officially filed for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev. The “Total Divas” star submitted the necessary paperwork on Wednesday in the Superior Court of Napa, California.

The filing comes after Chigvintsev’s arrest on August 29 for alleged domestic violence. This incident occurred just three days after the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary.

According to records, Chigvintsev was taken into custody at approximately 9:40 a.m. and was booked an hour later. He was released on the same day at around 2:18 p.m. after posting a $25,000 bail. A court date has been set for November 4.

Nikki Bella, whose full name is Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, and Artem share a 4-year-old son named Matteo. The couple first met on the set of “Dancing with the Stars” during season 25, while Nikki was still engaged to John Cena.

Their relationship began in 2018 after her engagement to Cena ended. Chigvintsev proposed to Nikki in November 2019, and she announced her pregnancy two months later. Their son, Matteo, was born on July 31, 2020, and the couple married in August 2022.

Following Chigvintsev’s arrest, a representative for Nikki stated, “This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.”
