Barr says Trump became “detached from reality” after 2020 election loss [Video]

Former attorney general Bill Barr told the Jan. 6 House select committee that then-President Donald Trump had become “detached from reality” after losing in the 2020 presidential election.
In recorded testimony, Barr told the panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection that Trump was making outlandish claims about voting fraud, rigged voting machines and fraudulent vote dumps.
“And the statements were made very conclusory, like, ‘These machines were designed to engage in fraud,’ or something to that effect. But I didn’t see any supporting information for it,” Barr said in a testimony that was aired Monday.
“And I was somewhat demoralized because I thought, ‘Boy if he really believes this stuff, he has lost contact with — he’s become detached from reality, if he really believes this stuff,’” Barr continued.
During a public committee hearing, Barr repeatedly dismissed Trump’s claims of fraud as “bullshit,” “nonsense” and “crazy stuff.” e added Trump did not show an interest “in what the actual facts were.”
“My opinion then and my opinion now is that the election was not stolen by fraud. And I haven’t seen any since the election that changes my mind on that,” Barr said.
The former attorney general has been a key witness for the House select committee. People close to Trump made clear to him in the weeks after the presidential election that there was no widespread fraud or proof to support his claims.
Barr’s deposition was also played in the committee’s hearing last Thursday, and he was shown dismissing Trump’s claims as “bullshit.”
In December 2020, Barr resigned after breaking with Trump and said there was no evidence of widespread fraud in the election.

Barr is a demonrat, what else is new. Pres Trump made a huge mistake of trusting b.s. barr, a demon-possessed radical left. The American ppl have to pay close attention to Barr of his hypocrisy, deception, lies and more damages he’s going to bring. 2020 was a stolen election. Barr was/is very jealous of Pres Trump achievements as US President.

Barr is the biggest fake I have ever seen. Just listening to him you can tell by the way he talks, he tries to sound like he knows something and he doesn’t. He should have never held any position as he is stupid and just trying to talk like a smooth talker. He probably saw some money out of Hillary and Soros. But I never heard him say one intelligent thing ever. He is just a faker. Trump is right that he did win. Look at all the thousands to came to every rally and Biden couldn’t even get anyone to come to the parking lot. They are going to try it again with all the illegals come 2024. Trump is the greatest president ever and the people know it. I don’t understand why Sydney Powell’s evidence can’t be looked at. The judges should have looked at it in the beginning. She says she can prove everything she says happened with the machines. D’Souza’s documentary “2000 Mules” is all provable too. Why can’t we get the truth? Threats, payoffs? Both?

You are ALL correct and I really can’t add much. However, Trump was hated because he wasn’t a politician and got things done (while the whole gov was against him) years ahead of what it would have taken our politicians to do (historically speaking). Also, he is a billionaire, thus could not be bought off by Nanshee Pelosi and Hillary. Angry??? Darn right they are. Trump’s biggest errors were he didn’t fire ALL of Obama’s holdovers to start fresh, and then surrounded himself with too many disguised democrats. He might have gotten rid of a lot more swamp if he had better advisors.

I believe that Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election. I went to Washington DC on January 6 to show my support for him and voice my right to freedom of speech. I was standing at the apex of the 2 scaffoldings on the Capitol plaza landing (the huge outdoor floor space). Everybody there was very peaceful and polite and there were many thousands there. I also believe there were several “plants” in the Trump administration (not the green, growing kind) and Bill Barr was one of them. I surely do not blame Donald Trump if he does not run again because he has taken more abuse than any other president in recent history. But I surely would vote for him if he did run again.

Trump was not a “swamp” member when he came to Washington. He did not have a deep bench of his own, so he had to rely on swamp creatures in too many positions of power. It is surprising that he was able to get so much done, especially because he was under their concerted counterattack through all 4-years. That he was successful in so many important areas is a testament to his own abilities as a manager/leader. Washington DC has a deep and wide pool of swamp creatures that are in powerful positions that will not yield to an outsider. They are doing everything they can think of to stop Trump from having a return trip to the Presidency. I want him to get reelected to see him do what he can to right this listing/sinking ship of state back to a semblance of leadership in the world.
