In a harrowing incident out of Moro, Arkansas, a 6-year-old boy was discovered dead under the floorboards of a home, leading to the arrest of two individuals in connection with the devastating event.

Ashley Roland, the young boy’s 28-year-old mother, and Nathan Bridges, 33, her boyfriend, have been taken into custody. They are now facing charges including capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to a statement from the Arkansas State Police.

Authorities stated, “Based on initial findings, it’s believed the boy died from injuries sustained in the home, possibly three months ago.” An official cause of death is pending as the state medical examiner reviews the case.

Another shocking discovery from the home: Roland’s 6-year-old daughter was found exhibiting signs of extensive abuse, including burns on her scalp. The young girl has since been taken to a Memphis hospital and is currently in stable condition. The discovery of the boy’s body led to considerable shock and sorrow within the community.

A neighbor, Machelle Calloway, voiced her anguish to WREG Memphis, saying, “It’s very [disheartening] that I have a house, just two houses over, and had no idea that there was a deceased child that close … I hope they’re punished to the fullest.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Anita Widby, a friend of the children’s grandmother, Karen. Karen has purportedly been attempting to gain custody of the children for over a year. The fundraising page recounts the horrifying state of the eldest child when Karen visited the home and provides a platform for community members to support the family during this heartbreaking time. The fundraiser has garnered almost $20,000 towards its $100,000 target.

The investigation, overseen by the Arkansas State Police, remains ongoing as they delve deeper into this tragic occurrence.

No election official should be appointed for life. If there are issues with job performance or other work related issues the person should be terminated immediately for cause.
