WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • During Joe Biden’s drive-in campaign event in Orlando Tuesday, former President Barack Obama trolled President Donald Trump, saying he was “jealous” of the media’s COVID-19-centric coverage.
  • Trump lambasted Obama’s participation in Biden’s rallies, claiming that his rallies drew larger crowds than his rival.
  • Obama also slammed Trump’s TV watching and tweeting habits.

Former President Barack Obama on Tuesday trolled President Donald Trump following his COVID-19 media coverage complaints of the media, saying that the president was “jealous” of the virus during his address at a drive-in campaign rally for Joe Biden in Orlando on Tuesday

“What’s his closing argument? That people are too focused on COVID! “COVID, COVID, COVID — he’s complaining. He’s jealous of COVID’s media coverage!,” Obama said.

In recent weeks, Trump vowed to his supporters that the US would be “rounding the turn” on the coronavirus. He also lambasted the media in a barrage of tweets, saying that it was covering too much time on unemployment, the new surge of virus cases, and the climbing fatalities. As of the present, more than 226,000 Americans have died due to COVID-19.

Trump also slammed Obama’s attendance in his former vice president’s campaign rallies. He argued that his rallies drew far more supporters than Obama, which was rebuked by the former president himself.

“This week, with everything that’s happening, you know what he brought up? He was fussing about the crowd size at the inauguration again, saying his was bigger. Who is thinking about that right now? Nobody except him,” Obama said on Tuesday.

Trump and Biden were campaigning head-to-head in Florida, a key battleground state. Last 2016 election, Trump was victorious against Clinton in the state.

In addition, Obama also poked fun of Trump’s TV watching and regular “tweeting” exercises.

“Tweeting at the TV doesn’t fix things. Watching TV all day doesn’t fix things. Making stuff up doesn’t fix things. You’ve got to have a plan if you want to make people’s lives better,” the former president said.

In response, Trump has again slammed Obama’s speech.

“Now @FoxNews is playing Obama’s no crowd, fake speech for Biden, a man he could barely endorse because he couldn’t believe he won,” he wrote on Twitter.

Early voting in the US obtained more than 60 million, as overall voter turnout is anticipated to be significantly higher than the 2016 election.
