WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he has already cast his vote in Florida.
  • Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden continues to campaign in Pennsylvania and would likely vote in Delaware on Election Day.
  • Biden continues to attack Trump for his COVID-19 handling mishap, claiming that the president is not worthy to get a second term.

Before leaving Florida on Saturday, President Donald Trump said that he opted for a guy “named Trump,” calling it an “honor” to make a vote in his new home state after switching his official address from New York.

After finishing his Florida campaign on Friday, Trump visited an early voting polling site at a public library. The president chose to vote in person, as he was greeted by a crowd of supporters. He wore a face mask and followed the necessary precautionary measures in place to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump changed his official residence from New York to Florida last year, arguing that he experienced unfair treatment from city officials.

The president, who made repeated accusations against the massive fraud of mail-in voting, made another remark after casting his ballot.

“When you send in your ballot it could never be like that. It could never be secure like that,” he said.

Biden has not yet voted and would also do an in-person casting of the ballot on Election Day since his Delaware hometown does not have early voting. With the help of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, the former vice president continued campaigning in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state which could be the key factor in determining who will become victorious for this year’s presidential election.

Currently, over 54 million voters have cast their ballots. An additional 100 million votes are still expected to come before the winner could be officially announced.

As Election Day approaches, Trump will proceed with his campaign in full blast at Circleville, Lumberton, North Carolina, Ohio, and Waukesha, Wisconsin despite the continuous surge of new COVID-19 cases daily.

Biden, meanwhile, would host drive-in events in Bucks and Luzerne Counties in Philadelphia. During the 2016 elections, Hillary Clinton won by a small margin in Bucks County but lost significantly versus Trump in Luzerne County, a blue-collar area that was won by Obama twice.

Biden has continued to plead his case with the public that Trump is not worthy of getting re-elected because of his COVID-19 crisis mishandling. On Saturday, he pointed out his argument in a podcast interview with former Obama administration officials.

“Get control of the virus. Get control of coronavirus,” Biden told the Pod Save America. ”Without that, nothing else is going to work very well.”

According to the latest monitoring by John Hopkins University, the US death toll has reached over 224,000. The country hit another daily record of COVID-19 cases with 83,757 recorded infection on Friday, surpassing the 77,362 reported cases on July 16.
