Leavitt Suggests Biden’s Secret Robert Hur Interview Would Captivate Americans

Clear Facts
- White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt suggested Americans would be interested in hearing the audio of President Biden’s interview with former special counsel Robert Hur.
- Robert Hur, appointed by Biden’s Justice Department in 2023, investigated Biden’s handling of classified documents but chose not to press charges.
- Efforts to access the interview tape have been blocked by the DOJ, leading to lawsuits from various media outlets.
During a recent White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed a question about the potential release of an audio recording involving President Biden. The recording in question is an interview with former special counsel Robert Hur, which has remained inaccessible to the public.
Leavitt remarked, “I think the American people would be quite interested to hear that tape,” highlighting the public’s curiosity about the contents of the interview. However, she did not provide any updates on whether the White House plans to release the audio.
The interview with Robert Hur is significant due to its connection to an investigation into President Biden’s handling of classified documents. Appointed by Biden’s own Justice Department in 2023, Hur concluded that while Biden had willfully retained classified national security documents, he decided against pursuing criminal charges.
In his report, Hur described Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” He further explained, “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.”
Despite these findings, the Department of Justice has consistently blocked attempts by Congress and the media to access the audio recordings. House Republicans have demanded the DOJ release the tapes, but their requests were met with refusal in April 2024.
The DOJ’s rejection of Freedom of Information Act requests from multiple entities has led to legal action. A coalition of media outlets filed a lawsuit in July seeking access to the recordings.
As the situation unfolds, the question remains whether the American public will eventually gain access to the interview that has sparked such interest and controversy.

The American people should be slowed to see this interview! We the people spoke when we re-elected Trump in November. Quit hiding everything from us!

I’m a 85 year old veteran and I wonder if I could use the interview (Biden) as a tool for any defense related to any crimes I may have committed ?? The difference in the treatment of DIFFERENT classes of Citizens in our Nation is going to be our downfall >>

The comments by the DOJ were that because he was a sitting president, and no prosecution was going to take place, it would be used against Biden if he ran for office, again.
Well, that is no longer a reason, so let us have it released.
