Americans witnessed at least 14 mass shootings across the nation over the Memorial Day weekend.

A mass shooting is defined by the Gun Violence Archive as a shooting of four or more victims shot, not including any suspected gunman, resulting in injury or death.

Following the tragic deaths of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, additional mass shootings occurred in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and elsewhere in Texas.

The shootings happened during Friday through Monday, the federal holidays dedicated to mourning U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the armed forces.

On Friday, six people were wounded during a shooting at a graduation party in Anniston, Alabama. That same day, a shooting in Stanwood, Michigan, killed a mother and her three children.

On Saturday, a mass shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, injured six victims in the age range of 13 to 15. Mayor Tim Kelly decried the “outrageous” incident, stating, “It’s ridiculous that I even need to publicly state that guns have no place in the hands of our kids and that children shouldn’t be wandering around in the middle of the night without supervision.”

More mass shootings occurred on Saturday. Four were injured during a shooting at a house party in Malabar, Florida; two died and another two were injured in Fresno, California; and one died and three were injured in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nearly a dozen people were shot in several shootings over the weekend in Memphis, Tennessee.

On Sunday, a mass shooting in Henderson, Nevada, injured seven; one was killed and three were injured in Merced, California; one person died and five were injured in Phoenix, Arizona; four were injured in Houston, Texas; and a shooting in Taft, Oklahoma, killed one and injured seven.

Two mass shootings occurred in Chicago on Sunday. One died and four were injured in the first, while five were injured in the second.

On Monday, one died and six were injured in Benton Harbor, Michigan, after gunfire reportedly erupted outside a liquor store. In Philadelphia, two died and two were injured in a mass shooting whose victims’ ages ranged from 14 to 21.

Maybe time to have more gun legislation. How about make it illegal for criminals to have guns and quit letting them out of jail. Need to prosecute to the fullest extent of the LAW. This is all happening under Biden’s presidency. That’s what he said about Trump. Mental health is a real problem when you add guns into the mix. Maybe time to crack down on the criminals and not legislate more restrictions for gun owners who abide by the law. The mental health of all in this country is in jeopardy because of the idiotic polices from the current administration. It is going to get worse before it gets better because the Demonrats have no control on anything. Inflation out of control, gas prices sky rocketing, ( before Russian Invasion, just another person to blame ), shootings everywhere. But what do they do, it’s not my fault nothing is their fault.

It’s already illegal for criminals to possess firearms. I agree that officials need to stop releasing violent criminals. They should prosecute more gun crimes with severe sentences.
