WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Joe Biden blamed his staffers for poorly packing the classified documents found at his Delaware residence and Penn Biden Center in Washington.
  • Biden called the classified documents “stray papers” and items from the 1970s when he was still a senator.
  • The president tried to contrast his mishandling of classified materials to former President Donald Trump’s classified document scandal.

President Joe Biden blamed staffers who did not carefully pack up his old offices for the classified documents discovered at his Wilmington, Delaware home and the old Washington office.

In an interview on Wednesday night after the State of the Union address, Biden said “One of the things that happened is that what was not done well is, as they packed up my offices to move them, they didn’t do the kind of job that should have been done to go thoroughly through every single piece of literature that’s there.”

The president also said he thinks the FBI may have “picked up” items from 50 years ago when he was still a senator. He downplayed the impact of the items found and called them “stray papers” and did not indicate whether those materials were classified documents.

“To the best of my knowledge, the kind of things they picked up are things, they’re from 1974, stray papers. There may be something else. I don’t know,” Biden told PBS NewsHour host Judy Woodruff.

On Jan. 21, investigators searched Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home and found “six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials” Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer said. He added that the Department of Justice took possession of the documents, ” some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President.”

Biden was first elected to the Senate in 1972 at the age of 29. He was sworn in as a Delaware senator when he was 30.

Reportedly, documents found from Biden’s Wilmington home and an office he used at the Penn Biden Center in Washington were from his time as vice president.

“I’ll let the investigation decide what’s go on, and we’ll see what happens,” Biden said in the PBS interview.

The White House has repeatedly noted that the president has been cooperative with the investigation.

Biden also said that he “invited” the FBI to “come and look and spend hours searching my home.” invited them.” “

The FBI found no documents with classified markings during its search of Biden’s Rehoboth Beach, Del., home on Feb. 1.

Biden attempted to contrast his mishandling of classified materials to former President Donald Trump’s case. Currently, Trump is being investigated for the classified materials that were seized by the FBI at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

There is no comparison. The President may have declassified what he took. Its possible his staff didn’t follow up with NARA. Normally NARA are the ones who pack the boxes. Why not with Trump? Trumps were secured in a double locked closet with video cameras and secret service agents. The DOJ and NARA knew what Trump had and were working with Trumps people all along. Biden has docs he was not supposed to have. Period. They were not secured in any way. It is reported he had Hunter move them. NARA didn’t even know he had them. There is no telling how these docs were used by multiple foreign government agents with hunter having access to them. There is a correlation between them and some of the info on the laptop. If the espionage act applies any where…it applies here.

Biden was vp and he had no right to have access to. Much less having them in a closet on a Chinese run facility for years! Having them in a garage out in the open, driving away with garage door open!!!! I don’t understand how his office had not been accessed for all those year! Big, Big difference

I see Biden’s not at fault for the documents found lying around. It’s the fault of his staffers.
Every thing that’s gone wrong since he took office is his fault and his fault alone, but he won’t take
blame for all his total screw ups. He’s the most corrupt, lying, thieving, traitorous man alive. And that’s
saying something, I’ve been around for over eight decades and never seen anyone like him. He should be removed from
office, and since he’s the commander in chief, tried by a military tribunal and when found guilty, publicly hanged in
front of the Capital Building. That’s my opinion for what it’s worth.

This non-man (a REAL MAN takes RESPONSIBILITY for his actions good or bad) NEVER takes responsibility for anything bad. He ALWAYS blames someone else, Trump, staff members ANYBODY he can. He is a pathological liar and corrupt as a CENTURY is long! You can NOT trust anything that comes out of his mouth or out of a pen(cil) that he writes with!
