We are saddened to report the demise of respected actor Donald Sutherland. Famous for his significant roles in “Hunger Games” and “Pride & Prejudice,” among many others, he passed away on Thursday at the age of 88.
The Creative Artists Agency (CAA) announced that Sutherland succumbed to a prolonged illness in Miami, but the actor’s official cause of death remains undisclosed.
Born on July 17, 1935, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, Sutherland gained fame with his performance in the 1967 World War II drama, “The Dirty Dozen.” This kickstarted an illustrious career that lasted over six decades.
According to his official IMDb page, Sutherland managed to accumulate over 200 film and TV credits during his career. Notably, his 200th acting role, “Heart Land,” is currently in the pre-production phase.
In addition to “Hunger Games” and “Pride & Prejudice,” Sutherland’s broad spectrum of roles includes roles in the 1970 films, “M*A*S*H” and “Kelly’s Heroes,” where he portrayed Hawkeye Pierce and Sergeant Oddball, respectively. His portrayal of John Baxter in the 1973 film, “Don’t Look Now,” is also fondly remembered.
His exceptional career also included performances in “Dirty Sexy Money,” “Trust,” “The Undoing,” and “The Pillars of the Earth,” among many others. As a testament to his acting skills, Sutherland won a Golden Globe for the television movie “Path to War,” and bagged an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for his performance in the miniseries “Citizen X.”

It’s so sad to know that Donald Sutherland passed away he was one of my favorite heroes of the silver screen along Charles Bronson but he was unique original in his characters in his movies no one like him he was a legend!! We’ve lost a legend a very terrific prolific outstanding actor loved by millions I’ didn’t even know he was Canadian all of the dirty dozen and the magnificent seven became legends, I’ am so sad and disappointed! God welcome him into his kingdom….
