Britney Spears recently took to Instagram to share a harrowing experience with her fans. The pop icon recounted an incident that happened six months ago, where she suffered major burns in what she described as a “really, really dangerous” situation.
In a selfie video, Spears, speaking in a British accent, detailed the accident that occurred in her room.
“I was in my room and I turned the fire on and all of a sudden it blew up in my face, and it’s done it before,” Spears revealed.
She explained that she usually relies on her security to handle the task because of past incidents.
“In the times it’s done it before, I quit, so I always get my security to come in and light it for me because I’m scared it was gonna blow up,” she admitted.
However, this time, she decided to light the fire herself, which led to disastrous results.
“And this time I just threw the whole thing in there and it literally blew into my face!” she said.
Spears went on to describe the extent of her injuries.
“It took all my eyelashes off, my eyebrows, and see this baby hair, these baby bangs, this is basically from six months ago,” she said, showing the aftermath of her singed hair.
She also mentioned that the person who was with her during the incident was unresponsive.
“My face was like on fire I was like third degree, second degree burns,” Spears said.
“It hurt to put ice on my face, anything – to just touch it.”
The pain, she noted, lasted for 6 or 7 hours. To manage the pain, she eventually took three Tylenol pills.
“Tylenol is a really big deal for me it’s like a fucking Vicodin or something!” she exclaimed.
Despite the severity of her burns, Spears had no visible scars or burns on her face in the video. The clip has since been removed from her Instagram page.
