Manita, a restaurant based in Toronto, has publicly criticized actor Zachary Quinto, famed for his role as Mr. Spock in the reboot of the Star Trek series, over his alleged conduct as a patron. In a post featuring an image of the Starship Enterprise, the restaurant made a bold statement about Quinto, deeming him “an amazing Spock, but a terrible customer.”
The restaurant provided details of Quinto’s alleged actions, stating, “He yelled at our staff like an entitled child after he didn’t reply to two texts informing him his table was ready and refused to accept that the empty tables in the dining room weren’t available for him despite being informed they were spoken for.” They allege that Quinto’s behavior was disruptive, claiming it “Made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners feel uncomfortable.”
The restaurant expressed its disappointment, concluding with a sharp statement, “Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else, we have many lovely celebrities joining us at Manita but you are NOT one of them.”
The restaurant further clarified the incident on social media, sharing that, “This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last time an irate guest has taken their frustrations out on our staff.” They voiced their appreciation for customers who provide constructive criticism and treat the staff with respect.
In a strong stand against disrespectful behavior, the restaurant stated, “To all the other Zachary Quintos out there, on behalf of restaurant workers everywhere: We aren’t above criticism, but we are above being demeaned.”
Quinto, who recently turned 47 on June 2, was in Toronto for celebrations. He shared pictures of his visit to Canada’s Wonderland theme park in the greater Toronto area and a photo of himself in a restaurant with a small birthday cake on his social media platforms.

If one can’t treat staff with respect, then don’t go out to eat! They are NOT your slaves! They are trying to earn a living to support their families, and do NOT deserve to be mistreated! Respect and consideration of others shows one’s character! If you are rude, abusive, demanding, it shows you think you are entitled to treat others in that manner! He should be 86ed out of that establishment for good! And he probably is a lousy tipper as well!

Another actor who thinks he is entitled, there are a lot of actors that are good people this jerk is not, if I were the restaurant I would have told him to leave and never darken the door again and don’t let the door hit you in the behind.
