Philadelphia’s Fox 29 morning traffic anchor, Bob Kelly, returned to the airwaves on Tuesday with a clear sign of physical assault – a noticeably swollen eye.
He had been attacked over the weekend while hosting an event at a Jersey Shore bar, in what seems to be a disturbing trend fueled by social media platform, TikTok.
Kelly confirmed to his viewers that he was coping well after the alarming incident, during which an individual struck him unexpectedly after dousing him with beer.
This person had even filmed the entire episode, suggesting that it was a premeditated act.
The traffic anchor linked his ordeal to a recent TikTok challenge that seems to encourage such behavior, pointing to a similar instance involving Grammy-winning rapper, Cardi B.
Over the weekend, Cardi B was in the news after retaliating to a fan who had thrown water at her during a concert in Las Vegas. The fan had filmed the incident, just as in Kelly’s case.
The parallels between these events suggest that such assaults may be part of a worrying social media trend, where individuals instigate and film acts of aggression for online notoriety.
Kelly was hopeful that his experience would draw attention to this disturbing trend and help curtail it.
“It’s under investigation and I’m just going to leave it at that, but I hope this can bring some light to this craziness that is out there and put a stop to it,” he commented on air.

This incident is inspired not by TikTok or other social media, but by the media itself that
continues to try and justify anti-social and often violent behavior. Kelly is but one example
of the whirlwind they themselves have created. It is time that those who preach ‘law and order’
should be backed up by fair and honest reporting and not by the excuses often advanced by the media.

Defund the FBI, DOJ ,et al and STOP the ” political based attacks on our Constitution and our Nation !China ,Russia and ALL of these foreign entities are NOT as large a threat to our Nations future than these domestic entities !
