GOP Defectors Who Sided with Dems Against Censuring Tlaib Revealed

Clear Facts:

  • A contingent of House Republicans broke ranks, siding with Democrats to thwart Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resolution to censure Rashida Tlaib.
  • Tlaib, an outspoken critic of Israel, had called for a ceasefire, while leveling grave accusations of “apartheid” and “genocide” against Israel.
  • The resolution was defeated in a 222 to 186 vote, with a notable number of Republicans opposing it.

The halls of Congress witnessed a fracture within the Republican ranks as a number of GOP House members voted alongside Democrats against a resolution that sought to censure Rashida Tlaib for her controversial stance on the Israel-Hamas skirmish.

Introduced by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, the resolution targeted Tlaib’s proposition for a ceasefire and her potent criticism of Israeli policies.

Representative Tlaib, who has frequently found herself at odds with proponents of Israel, championed a resolution last month that underscored the sanctity of human life and condemned the targeting of civilians — a resolution that dovetailed with her accusation of Israel as an “apartheid” state and perpetrating “genocide” against Palestinians.

This accusation comes against the backdrop of a conflict characterized by the deadliest militant attack by Hamas on Israel to date, prompting an unprecedented retaliatory strike by Israel on Gaza. The hostilities resulted in a heavy toll on human life, with casualty figures escalating on both sides.

In an effort to hold Tlaib accountable, Greene’s resolution denounced Tlaib for “antisemitic activity, sympathizing with terrorist organizations and leading an insurrection at the United States Capitol Complex.”

This latter charge referenced Tlaib’s address at a Capitol rally advocating for peace amid the ongoing strife.

Defying expectations of a party-line vote, the motion was derailed with the help of 23 Republican lawmakers, rendering the attempt to censure Tlaib unsuccessful.

The unexpected GOP defectors were publicly identified by Greene, who shared the voting roll on X.

She further stated, “I will continue to call for ceasefire, for the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid, for the release of hostages and those arbitrarily detained, and for every American to be brought home.”

These Republicans are antisemitics. They are backing the terrorist attacks in Israel. They also support Obama because he is a Muslim, a Muslim Brotherhood member and a communist by all of his comments he has listed. The Republicans are not to be trusted anymore than the Democrats. Washington is corrupt.

The only solution is to remove All Hamas members and supporters from this Earth permanently. Then let the Palestinians recreate their government to note they support Israel and each government can live side by side in peace. The only real issue is where can all the Palestinians live without interfering with the borders of Israel?

That won’t work because those calling for the destruction of Israel have publicly stated that their goal is not only the destruction of Israek but also the destruction of ALL Jews !

It is very disappointing to see how these RINOS vote for other considerations than national security, patriotism, or even distancing themselves from contemptible antisemites such as the Tlaib lady, er, woman.(I do not place her the same category as the other ladies in Congress). Also, the knowledge that such persons populate the ranks of congressional republicans (23, at least) induces me to decline to contribute to the Republican National Committee.

If you are going to be a member of the Republican Party, put on your “Big Boy pants” and walk the walk that was the reason that you were elected. This practice of masquerading as belonging to a different political party is just another “dirty trick” that has been foisted on us by the democrats. Add that to the constant (repetitive) lies and the election interference/malfeasance and you have a tidal wave of reasons why the Republicans always seem to come up short. The GOP is blaming themselves for the lack of success in the interim elections yet I have not heard one word about possible collusion and cheating. Until we get our hands around everything that the dems do to cheat their way into office we will never know who should legally be placed in office. That is a “shame on us” issue!
