Major Company Backs Camp Encouraging Drag Performance in Youth

Clear Facts

  • The North Face, a major outdoor retailer, sponsors Camp Brave Trails, an overnight summer camp that allows LGBT identifying children from the age of 12 to participate in drag performances.
  • The camp prides itself on locations in New York and Southern California, fostering an environment that encourages diverse gender expressions, positive self-discovery, and creativity, while respecting and celebrating the identities of campers.
  • The North Face, largely seen as promoting a far-left agenda, has been involved in past controversies such as requesting customers to undertake a diversity, equity, and inclusion training course named “allyship in the outdoors,” and running a “Summer of Pride” campaign that generated a backlash.

The North Face, acclaimed for its outdoor gear, openly supports an overnight camp program for LGBT identifying youth, Camp Brave Trails. Based in Southern California and New York, this program encourages children as young as 12 to engage in drag performances. The North Face, along with shoe brands Toms and Chacos, are sponsors of the camp.

In 2021, The North Face committed to a donation of over $70,000 to Camp Brave Trails, demonstrating multiple years of sponsorship. The camp, through its video content, has shown how young participants dress up and perform in drag.

Camp Brave Trails’ site provides this description of their program:
“Welcome to Camp Brave Trails, where we blend all the traditional elements of a summer camp with an LGBTQ+ twist. Our camp is thoughtfully designed to serve as a safe haven for LGBTQ+ youth.”

The camp proudly announces that some of their campers, after attending, have initiated LGBT clubs at their respective middle schools.

Kayla and Jessica Weissbuch, the founders of the camp, spoke about the camp’s operations on a talk show, saying,
“All of our housing is genderless, bathrooms are genderless, we ask for names and pronouns from campers and they can change them all they like.”

They also talked about their clothing closet, which allows children to explore their gender identities through various clothing styles. A camper noted during the show,
“I was able to perform, do drag, I was able to do … so many activities.”

Camp Brave Trails, which accepts kids between the ages of 12 and 17, guarantees that the division of groups in cabins is purely done based on age and never by gender.

The North Face has a track record of supporting a far-left agenda, particularly on matters of gender and race. Recently, the company requested customers to complete a training course named ‘allyship in the outdoors’ aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, offering participants a 20% discount. The company also encountered criticism for its “Summer of Pride” campaign, which featured a drag performer.

The North Face also sponsors an eminent mountain climber who is currently in a legal battle for alleged false accusations of racism that resulted in a man losing his job.

The North Face’s association with Camp Brave Trails isn’t the only example of overnight camps specifically designed for LGBT children. Other camps such as Camp Indigo, Camp Lilac, and Camp Aranu’tiq are run across the country, with some catering to children as young as four years old.

I dont need North Face after seeing this, if they want to support LGBTQ then let LGBTQ support North Face and see if they can make enough money to stay in business. Camp Brave Trails we can only hope you fall on your face. because 90% of Americans do not need you.

This an exercise in theatrical expression through costume. Dressing up in a costume does not promote sex, no more than a male performer dressed as a female circus clown. The bigoted comments here indicate an extremely low E.Q. ( Emotional Quotient) and suggests suppressed internalized phobia. We are all born naked. Everything is “Drag” after that.
