Biden Administration Bars the Press

  • The White House press office barred The Post from attending President Biden’s only daytime public event on Monday.
  • The exclusion comes as federal prosecutors near a decision on criminally charging Hunter Biden for tax fraud and other crimes.
  • The Post has been closely covering President Biden’s ties to his relatives’ foreign dealings and first reported on files from Hunter’s abandoned laptop in October 2020.

In a recent development, the Biden administration has decided to prevent The Post from attending President Biden’s only daytime public event on Monday. This move coincides with the impending decision of federal prosecutors on whether to charge Hunter Biden, the president’s son, with tax fraud and other crimes.

The Post has been at the forefront of reporting on President Biden’s links to his family’s foreign dealings, including the discovery of files on Hunter’s abandoned laptop in 2020 that exposed connections to China and Ukraine.

The event, which featured President Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, focused on airline policies and took place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, situated near the White House.

Although there were around 20 empty seats available for reporters, The Post was not permitted entry. The White House staff sent an email explaining their inability to accommodate The Post’s credential request but did not claim the decision was based on “space limitations.”

Since June 2022, 73 journalists representing nearly two-thirds of the White House briefing room seats have been fighting for an end to the mysterious prescreening process for events.

However, the unprecedented access restrictions remain in place, with the White House Correspondents’ Association unable to get an explanation for the selection criteria.

Meanwhile, the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden’s activities appears to be drawing to a close.

His legal team met with Justice Department lawyers in late April, potentially signaling the final step before a charging decision is made. President Biden has consistently denied any wrongdoing on his son’s part, maintaining that he is proud of him despite the ongoing scrutiny.

Congressional Republicans have subpoenaed bank records of Biden family associates and reviewed Suspicious Activity Reports in an effort to track the flow of funds.

These investigations have revealed numerous instances of Hunter and James Biden, President Biden’s brother, involving their powerful relative in various business relationships.

The Association could end this White House policy quickly, boycott the Press Conferences until it is ended or attend, don’t ask questions and don’t report on them.

No questions harder than “What’s your favorite flavor ice cream.” Questions must be submitted in advance. Coming back two days early from G7, in Japan. Depends supply chain problem. “What’s your ice cream, in Japan ?”
