Georgia Court Disqualifies Prosecutor in Trump Case
Clear Facts
- A Georgia appeals court has disqualified Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her team from prosecuting Donald Trump in the election interference case.
- The court ruled that there was an “appearance of impropriety” and that disqualification was necessary to maintain public confidence in the proceedings.
- Trump criticized the case, calling it a “disgrace to justice” and alleging corruption in its initiation.
In a significant development, a Georgia appeals court has removed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her team from the high-profile case against Donald Trump regarding alleged election interference. While the court did not dismiss the indictment against Trump, it firmly stated that Willis and her assistant district attorneys now lack “authority to proceed.”
The court’s decision was based on concerns over the appearance of impropriety during the pretrial phase.
“After carefully considering the trial court’s findings in its order, we conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office,” the court’s filing explained.
The court emphasized that although an appearance of impropriety is typically insufficient for disqualification, this instance is exceptional.
“This is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings.”
The ruling further elaborated, “As we conclude that the elected district attorney is wholly disqualified from this case, ‘the assistant district attorneys — whose only power to prosecute a case is derived from the constitutional authority of the district attorney who appointed them — have no authority to proceed.'”
In response to the court’s decision, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the case, describing the legal proceedings as “a disgrace to justice,” attributing its initiation to “an attack on his political opponent” by the Biden administration’s Department of Justice.
Trump further alleged, “They used anyone and anybody and she has been disqualified and her boyfriend has been disqualified and they stole funds and went on trips.”
The former president argued that the case should not continue under any circumstances.
“There is no way such corrupt people can lead a case and then it gets taken over by somebody else,” he remarked.
He insisted that the entire case was “started corruptly by an incompetent prosecutor who received millions of dollars through her boyfriend—who received it from her—and then they went on cruises all the time.”
In Trump’s view, “the case is entirely dead,” and he believes that “everybody should receive an apology, including those wonderful patriots who have been caught up in this for years.”
This development marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing legal saga, with further updates expected as the situation evolves.

Absolutely right, Cowboy. I firmly believe she should be disbarred as an attorney, terminated from her job as a prosecutor. She should be jailed for her attempt to railroad President Trump with those false charges.
