Schumer’s Ballroom Critique Backfires with Surprising Twist

Clear Facts
- Senator Chuck Schumer criticized President Trump for a $200 million White House ballroom project, mistakenly suggesting it was taxpayer-funded.
- The ballroom, designed to seat 650 people, will be financed by private donations, including contributions from President Trump himself.
- White House officials emphasized the ballroom as a long-desired addition to the White House complex, enhancing its capacity for hosting events.
In an attempt to portray President Donald Trump as a hypocrite, Senator Chuck Schumer of New York inadvertently highlighted Trump’s generosity. Schumer’s remarks came during a press conference where he criticized the president’s plans for a new White House ballroom.
Schumer expressed his disbelief over the announcement, stating, “Just now, the White House announced construction of a $200 million White House ballroom that will begin in September.” He questioned the funding source, asking, “Where did this money come from? Did Congress appropriate? I don’t think so.”
Despite Schumer’s quick conclusions, he lacked crucial details about the ballroom project. He went on to suggest that the initiative was a misuse of funds, claiming it was intended for Trump’s personal luxury.
Contrary to Schumer’s assertions, the ballroom will not be funded by taxpayers. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that the project is a gift, funded by private donations. “President Trump and other donors have generously committed to donating the funds necessary to build this approximately $200 million structure,” she explained.
The new ballroom, designed by McCrery Architects, will significantly expand the White House’s event hosting capabilities. It will seat 650 people, compared to the current capacity of 200 in the East Room.
President Trump expressed his enthusiasm for the project, describing it as “his gift to the country” in a recent interview. White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles emphasized Trump’s dedication to preserving the White House’s history while enhancing its functionality.
“I was always a great real estate developer, and I know how to do that,” Trump stated, underscoring his commitment to the project. The construction, managed by Clark Construction, is set to begin in September on the site of the current East Wing.

Schumer exemplifies the major media, all democrats, & haters across the country: whatever DT does, or says, the knee jerk response is one of derision, not simply critique, but, deep seated hate for the man. I’m my opinion, it renders all comments w/o credibility. No intellect, strictly emotion, & irrationality.
