Charlene Kornegay, a 41-year-old babysitter from Houston, Texas, has been accused of raping a 13-year-old boy in July 2021. Kornegay, who has a history of criminal convictions including theft, insurance fraud, and possession of methamphetamine, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by ABC 13, the victim was in Kornegay’s care when she ordered him to dress in a bra, dress, and high heels.

She then allegedly raped him in her son’s bedroom while he slept. When the victim asked her to stop, she reportedly told him to “shut up and take it like a man.” She allegedly held a knife to the victim and threatened to cut off his penis if he told anyone about the assault.

The victim confided in his father about the assault, who reported it to the authorities. Kornegay was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. She is currently being held in jail on a $200,000 bond.

This disturbing case highlights the importance of thoroughly vetting anyone who will be caring for children.

Parents should conduct background checks and ask for references before leaving their children in the care of someone they do not know well. Additionally, parents should have open communication with their children about appropriate behavior and safe touch, and encourage their children to come to them if they ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Clear Thoughts:

The case of Charlene Kornegay, the Texas babysitter accused of raping a 13-year-old boy, is a prime example of why we need to take a tough stance on crime and punish those who commit heinous acts to the fullest extent of the law.

The victim in this case was vulnerable and in Kornegay’s care when he was allegedly raped. Kornegay, who has a criminal history including theft, insurance fraud, and possession of methamphetamine, should never have been in a position to care for children in the first place. Her alleged actions are reprehensible and she should face serious consequences for her crimes.

Parents should be able to trust that their children are safe when they leave them in the care of a babysitter. When that trust is betrayed, it is a violation of the highest order. We need to do everything in our power to protect children and hold those who harm them accountable for their actions.

In this case, justice must be served. Kornegay must face the consequences of her alleged actions, and the victim and his family deserve our sympathy and support. As a society, we must work together to prevent crimes like this from happening and ensure that those who commit them are held accountable.

Excuse me!! Why was a woman that has this kind of rap sheet hired as a babysitter? This makes no sense. I am 80 years old and I realize that times has changed in a big way. However, when I was 13, I WAS the babysitter to a younger sister and my nephews.
