You know, I should probably be a better politician and tell you, ‘Yes, we’ve got all this amazing legislation that I can absolutely imagine Donald Trump signing into law.’ I’m just not gon’ lie.” She further explained that her current focus is on “preserving our basics and getting back some of the norms.”
Crockett’s approach reflects a defensive strategy, as she stated, “I am working to make sure that I can minimize the regress train right now. And I think— and I hope — that my district appreciates that I am being honest with them.” This stance is not unique to Crockett, as it appears to be part of a larger Democratic strategy.
The Democratic Party is facing significant challenges, with polls showing historically low approval ratings. According to data, “voters’ views of the Democrats in Congress: Among all voters, disapprove 68%,” highlighting a growing discontent with Democratic lawmakers.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has echoed Crockett’s focus on opposing Trump, stating that the Democrats’ role is to diminish Trump’s popularity and effectiveness. “We are fighting on all of the fronts to go after Trump,” Schumer said, emphasizing their efforts to reduce Trump’s influence by targeting his policies that allegedly favor the wealthy at the expense of the middle class.
Schumer elaborated, “And we have so many different areas to go after him on. And we’re already bringing his numbers down. We’ll keep bringing them down more and more and more.” The overarching goal, as Schumer sees it, is to weaken Trump’s authority by eroding his support base, thus limiting his ability to implement his agenda.

It is a sad state when we have city, state and federal legislators that cannot see the forrest from the trees. They are only interested in their personal pocket books and not in the improvement of the economy for the national benefit which would trickle down to those that are today less fortunate.
Trump doesn’t need this job for lining his pockets, as some of the democraps do. Most of them couldn’t hold a constructive job, and support a family if they didn’t get involved in politics; easy street for them to put bread on the table.
